About 360 soldiers from the 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team returned to Schofield Barracks tonight from a deployment to northern Iraq.

“We still have a couple hundred soldiers finishing up a few loose ends in Kuwait, but they will be returning shortly,” Maj. John Sego, the unit’s rear detachment commander, said in a news release.
The 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team operated in Salah ad Din Province, completing 230 civil affairs projects. Those projects included seven new schools and 60 school renovations, 52 water projects providing wells and water treatment facilities, 11 renovations to electricity facilities and improvements to medical and transportation facilities.
“Our troops served magnificently in the most difficult conditions and harshest environments,” Sego said.
