Free workshops to help parents initiate 'the talk' with their children

Advertiser Staff

Parents who want to be their children’s source of information on the facts of life but aren’t sure how to initiate “the talk” can get advice at free workshops in Kailua or Kaimuki.

The “I’m Askable” workshops, presented by Planned Parenthood of Hawaii, will provide parents with information about puberty and teenage pregnancy, as well as advice on how to let the youth in their lives know that they’re receptive to questions.

The workshops are 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Kalaheo High School Room D-105 and 5:30 p.m. Oct. 27 in the Kaimuki High School Library. Free pizza, beverages and child care will be provided. For more information call Kathleen Stofocik at 341-2540 or email kstofocik@pphi.org.
