Police were searching for a person suspected of shooting five people with a shotgun.

Police said the victims were hanging out in a driveway in Aliamanu early yesterday when some people challenged them to a fight.

The victims confronted their challengers but retreated when they found the suspects armed with baseball bats, pipes and sticks.

Police said that as they fled, one of the suspects fired a shotgun at them, hitting all five.

The victims, two 17-year-olds, two 18-year-olds and a 21-year-old, were taken to The Queen's Medical Center, where they were treated and released.

The shooter faces arrest on suspicion of first-degree attempted murder, five counts of second-degree attempted murder, three counts of reckless endangering and a weapons offense.
