UH men's hoops holds media day, full practice tomorrow

Advertiser Staff

The University of Hawaii men’s basketball team held a “media day” today in anticipation of the start of full practices tomorrow.

Members of the media interviewed the Rainbow Warriors and head coach Bob Nash.
Ten players return from last season’s 13-17 team, including the three leading scorers: Roderick Flemings, Bill Amis and Petras Balocka.
“I’m excited to get this year going,” Flemings said. “I like the look of this team with all the guys coming back plus the new guys. We’re definitely improved.”
Tomorrow is the first day that basketball teams can start full practices, according to NCAA rules.
The ’Bows are scheduled to practice from 5-7:30 p.m. tomorrow at Gym II on the UH campus. The practice is open to the public.
Hawaii’s first exhibition game is scheduled for Oct. 30 against Hawaii-Hilo. The first regular-season game is Nov. 13 against Southern Utah.
