Big Island police seek Kona man in abuse case

Big Island police are asking the public's help in finding Cody Lee Hughes, who is wanted in an abuse case.

HILO — Hawaii County police are asking the public’s help in finding a Kailua, Kona man sought for abuse.

Cody Lee Hughes, 26, allegedly choked his girlfriend until she lost consciousness.
Police say Hughes is known to frequent the Hilo area. He is described as 5 feet 10 and about 160 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair.
Police ask that anyone with information on his whereabouts call the Police Department's non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
