Governor signs proclamation in honor of Coach Dave Shoji's 1,000th win

Gov. Linda Lingle has signed a proclamation honoring University of Hawaiçi Rainbow Wahine volleyball coach Dave Shoji for his win over New Mexico State, his 1,000th.

Third-ranked Hawai'i ran its winning streak to 12 last night with a 25-13, 22-25, 25-21, 25-8 victory over New Mexico State, its closest pursuer in the Western Athletic Conference.
The proclamation calls Oct. 17 Coach Shoji 1,000th win day in Hawaii. During Shoji's 34-year-career with the UH volleyball program, the team has won four national titles and numerous conference championships.
