DALLAS — Ricky Dobbs and Vince Murray each ran for two touchdowns, Joe Buckley kicked a 24-yard, game-winning field goal in overtime and Navy won its fourth straight, beating SMU, 38-35, last night.

The Midshipmen (5-2) rallied from a 21-7 deficit in front of former President George W. Bush, who handled the honorary coin toss before the game.

SMU (3-3) forced overtime on Bo Levi Mitchell's 10-yard touchdown pass to Aldrick Robinson with 1:35 left.

The Mustangs had the ball first in overtime and lost a yard on three plays before Matt Szymanski missed a 43-yard field goal.

Dobbs carried twice to give Navy a first down on its possession. Then the Midshipmen ran three plays up the middle to center the ball for Buckley.

Navy plays at Hawaii Nov. 28.

NO. 11 IOWA 20, WISCONSIN 10

Trailing by a touchdown at halftime, the Hawkeyes (7-0, 3-0 Big Ten) began the third quarter by turning an interception into a tying touchdown pass from quarterback Ricky Stanzi to tight end Tony Moeaki, and Adam Robinson added a 10-yard TD run to beat the Badgers (5-2, 2-2). Wisconsin plays at Hawaii Dec. 5.

NO. 24 UTAH 35, UNLV 15

Terrance Cain threw two touchdown passes and rushed for another score to lead the visiting Utes (5-1, 2-0 Mountain West Conference) past the Rebels (2-5, 0-3) for their 600th victory in school history. The Utes have an all-time record of 600-418-31 in 116 seasons. UNLV beat Hawaii, 34-33, Sept. 19.

STEPHEN F. AUSTIN 33, CENTRAL ARKANSAS 30

Freshman kicker Evan Engwall nailed a 35-yard field goal with three seconds left to lift the visiting Lumberjacks (5-1, 2-0 Southland) over the Bears (4-2, 1-1). The Bears tied the game at 30-30 with 59 seconds left when Robbie Park hit Preston Echols with a 44-yard touchdown pass. Central Arkansas lost to Hawaii, 25-20, Sept. 4.

NEVADA 35, UTAH STATE 32

Colin Kaepernick threw for three touchdowns, and the visiting Wolf Pack (3-3, 2-0 WAC) took the lead for good, 28-24, on a 49-yard pass from Kaepernick to Brandon Wimberly with 9:02 left to play in rallying past the Aggies (1-5, 0-2).

USU made it 35-32 when Nnamdi Gwacham caught a 14-yard pass from Diondre Borel. After a successful two-point conversion, USU attempted an onside kick. The Aggies recovered the kick but were hit with a penalty. The Wolf Pack snagged the second attempt and ran out the clock. Nevada hosts Hawaii Oct. 31. Utah State plays at Hawaii Nov. 7.

LOUISIANA TECH 45, NEW MEXICO STATE 7

Ross Jenkins passed for 204 yards and three touchdowns, two to Dennis Morris, and ran for another score to lead the host Bulldogs (3-3, 2-1 WAC) over the Aggies (3-4, 1-2).

Daniel Porter added 132 yards for the Bulldogs, who scored on their first three possessions en route to a 24-0 halftime lead. Louisiana Tech beat Hawaii, 42-17, Sept. 30. New Mexico State plays at Hawaii Nov. 14

FRESNO STATE 41, SAN JOSE STATE 21

Ryan Mathews ran for 220 yards and Ryan Colburn threw two touchdown passes to power the host Bulldogs (3-3, 2-1 WAC) past the Spartans (1-5, 0-2), who took an early 14-7 lead.

Mathews' night, which ended after three quarters, included a 59-yard touchdown that highlighted the Bulldogs' 24-point second quarter. It was the junior's sixth straight game with 100 or more yards. Fresno State beat Hawai'i, 42-17, Oct. 10. San Jose State will host Hawai'i Nov. 21.
