Tree trimmer on Kauai critically injured in fall

PRINCEVILLE – A 22-year-old Kilauea man was critically injured today after falling from the top of a 40-foot tree in Princeville, the Kauai Police Department said in a news release.

Police said the man was taken to Wilcox Hospital; his current condition is not known.

The man was trimming a eucalyptus tree at a Princeville residence at around 11:43 this morning when he fell.

Firefighters and a patrol officer from the Hanalei substation and medics responded to the call.

The man was treated at the scene, and then transported to Wilcox Hospital for further treatment.
