Sighting of 8-foot shark closes popular Kauai beach
A shark sighting closed a portion of Poipu Beach on Kaua'i yesterday in front of the Marriott Waiohi Beach Resort.
Lifeguards closed the beach after a diver spotted an 8-foot gray shark at 2:45 p.m. yesterday, county officials said.
The Waiohai portion of the beach remained closed throughout the day.
