The University of Hawaii women's basketball team is picked to finish eighth in the Western Athletic Conference coaches and media polls released today.

In the coaches poll, UH is tied for eighth with San Jose State. In the media poll, UH is picked alone in eighth ahead of San Jose State.
Fresno State is picked to finish first ahead of Louisiana Tech in the coaches poll while the order was reversed in the media poll with Louisiana Tech ahead of Fresno State.

Both polls picked Shanavia Dowdell of Louisiana Tech as the preseason player of the year.
