Woman arrested in Waianae on suspicion of forgery

Advertiser Staff

A 45-year-old woman was arrested in Waianae yesterday after a clerk at a check-cashing business told police the woman tried to cash a stolen check.

The clerk, 47, told police the woman came into the store about 3:30 p.m. and presented the check.
The clerk said he contacted the owner of the account the check was drawn on and was told the owner's checkbook had been stolen.
Police were called to the scene and arrested the woman on suspicion of second-degree forgery.
