Year-long DUI crackdown is starting

Honolulu police will conduct impaired-driver checkpoints every week through September 2010 as part of the "52/12" sobriety checkpoint program.

The checkpoints will be at unannounced locations and times across the island.
Alcohol has been a factor in 14 of 42 fatal vehicle crashes on O'ahu this year.
