Kauai tree trimmer critically injured after fall

A 22-year-old Kílauea man was critically injured yesterday after falling from the top of a 40-foot tree in Princeville, Kauai, police reported.

The man had been trimming a eucalyptus tree at a Princeville residence around 11:43 a.m. yesterday when he fell.

Firefighters, medics and a patrol officer from the Hanalei substation responded to the call.

The man was treated at the scene, and then transported to Wilcox Hospital for further treatment.
