Steak and lobster dinner leads to man’s arrest in Waikiki

Advertiser Staff

Police arrested a 39-year-old Hawaii Kai man last night after he allegedly ordered and ate a steak and lobster dinner at the Kobe Steak House in Waikiki and was then unable to pay the $155 bill, which included several drinks.

The man was arrested about 8:40 p.m. on suspicion of third-degree theft. Because he had 10 prior convictions for the same offense during the past two years, he was also arrested on suspicion of habitual property crime, police said.
