Man charged with burglary, sex assault

Advertiser Staff

A 24-year-old man was charged with breaking into an Ewa Beach home and sexually assaulting a 25-year-old woman on Tuesday.

Kahealani C. Aleviado was charged with one count each of first-degree sexual assault and burglary. His bail was set at $100,000.
Aleviado is accused of breaking into the home of a woman on Ikulani Street early Tuesday morning. A woman told police that she was asleep and awoke to find a man standing naked at the entrance to her bedroom, according to a police affidavit filed in District Court.
Aleviado jumped on the bed, held her down and sexually assaulted her, the affidavit said. He left the home, but the victim said she recognized her assailant as possibly her next-door neighbor.
Police identified the suspect as Aleviado and arrested him on Wednesday afternoon in Ewa Beach.
