Volunteers to clean miles of coast, then hold surf party

A North Shore beach clean-up is set for Nov. 14 beginning at 8 a.m. at Velzyland Park and ending with a free winter surf party for participants.

The fifth Hui O Hee Nalu North Shore Beach Clean Up & Winter Surf Paina will cover about 10 miles of roadway, bike paths and beaches, including 15 popular surf spots.

Many top professional surfers and Hoku Hanohano award-winning performers have signed up for the nonalcohol , drug-free post party. Participants are asked to bring one can of food to donate to the Hawaii Food Bank.
