A man in his 50s was rescued from Pauoa Flats Trail this afternoon after slipping and injuring his leg.

Honolulu Fire Department rescue crews rappelled down to the man, who was with a hiking party about one mile in from the trail head, and assisted him as he was airlifted off the trail around 1:15 p.m.
The hiker was taken to an area hospital.
