Advertiser Staff

The ad-hoc coordinating committee for Typhoon Fund Drive, the Filipino Community Center and the Philippine consulate general will host a "final fund drive" for victims of two recent typhoons in the Philippines today, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Filipino Community Center.

The event will include a telethon from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., which will be broadcast live on KNDI.

Local fundraising efforts for Philippine typhoon relief have so far collected more than $100,000, Filipino Community Center president Toy Arre said in a news release from the Philippine consulate general.

Initial donations of $40,000 have already been forwarded to Caritas Manila and the Consuelo Foundation in the Philippines to help flood victims in Pangasinan, Bulacan, Pampanga and Baguio, Arre said.
