Advertiser Staff

A 42-year-old Waianae woman was arrested at a shop on Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki after she allegedly took a pair of sunglasses from a display case and replaced them with a cheap, look-alike pair.

Police said the store clerk detained the woman after she left the store.
The woman was arrested without incident after officers arrived.
A criminal history check the woman had four prior convictions on theft charges within the past four years, leading police to initiate a habitual property crime case against her.
She was also arrested on suspicion of second-degree theft.
