Sacred Hearts, Punahou win state air riflery titles

Sacred Hearts' Haunani Akana won her second straight individual title at today's Hawai'i High School Athletic Association state air riflery championships.

Akana, who shot a 548, also helped the Lancers win the state title at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall.
Christie Obatake of Punahou was second at 542 and Sacred Hearts' Cecilia Wong was third at 538. Also on Sacred Hearts' winning team were Caitlin Mori and Kristie Thornburg. The Lancers finished with a 2,130 aggregate. Punahou was second at 2,106.

Punahou's Alexander Char shot a 532 to win the boys title and help the Buffanblu win the state title. The Buffanblu finished with a 2,039 aggregate.
Saint Louis' Jayson Lum was second (522) and Punahou's Alexander Kimura (520) was third. Also on Punahou's winning team were Sheldon Agbayani and Daniel Booth.
Saint Louis finished second at 2,015.
