Ilima Award best-restaurant winner 3660 on the Rise has two special events coming up: an Oyster Jam Nov. 8 and a cooking class with chef Russell Siu Nov. 12. In both cases, advance reservations are required.

On Nov. 8 from noon to 2:30 p.m., Oyster Jam V will include tastes of oysters from the U.S., Canada and New Zealand, New Orleans-style gumbo and a half-dozen other dishes, plus wines. Organized rather like a school festival, attendees will buy scrip and choose what they wish to experience. Presale scrip is $20, redeemable for $24 in scrip. Presales are available through Nov. 1. Attendance is limited.

At 6 p.m. on Nov. 12, Siu will demonstrate a four-course menu with a pairing of three wines, beginning with scallop and pumpkin ravioli, moving on to a bay shrimp salad, a shichimi seared breast of chicken and then warm apple tart. Cost is $65.

For reservations for either event call 737-1177. More details: www.3660.com.
