Former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin reported yesterday that she has received at least $1.25 million for her upcoming memoir "Going Rogue."

A disclosure statement released yesterday discusses Palin's finances from Jan. 1 to July 27, when she resigned as Alaska governor. Palin said she received the money from publisher HarperCollins.

The document only provides a partial picture of the book deal because it doesn't cover the three months she has been out of office. Palin described the $1.25 million figure only as a "retainer" that appears to be a reference to her lucrative advance.

Palin will appear on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" the day before the release of her book, which is currently listed at No. 6 on Amazon.com and No. 11 on Barnes & Noble.com.

U2 WILL HELP BERLIN CELEBRATE WALL'S FALL

Achtung, baby: U2 will play a free concert in Berlin to help the city celebrate 20 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Music network MTV said the Irish rockers will perform in front of the Brandenburg Gate on Nov. 5 during the MTV Europe Music Awards.

The show will be beamed into the awards ceremony at Berlin's O2 World arena.

The wall fell Nov. 9, 1989, ending almost 30 years of separation between East and West.

BECK SUBBING FOR CLAPTON AT NYC SHOW

Eric Clapton has pulled out of this week's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame concert in New York after undergoing gallstone surgery. A publicist for the guitarist said yesterday that Clapton was doing well and recuperating with his family in England.

The hall says Jeff Beck will replace the 64-year-old guitarist for Friday night's show at Madison Square Garden. Clapton was to perform as part of a two-night celebration in honor of the hall's 25th anniversary. Beck now joins U2, Aretha Franklin and Metallica for the final night. HBO will air the concerts Nov. 29.

OSCAR WINNER STROLLS STREETS OF HAVANA

Michael Douglas staged an impromptu walking tour of the Cuban capital's historic district yesterday, posing for photos with construction workers and surprised residents. Little was known about Douglas' plans for his four days in Cuba.

His visit came two days after fellow Oscar-winner Sean Penn arrived in Cuba, reportedly seeking an interview with 82-year-old Fidel Castro, who stepped down as Cuba's president in February, 2007, and was replaced by his brother Raul.

There was no word on whether Penn got to see Fidel.
