NFL: Seahawks’ Lofa Tatupu out for the year

By GREGG BELL
AP Sports Writer

RENTON, Wash. — Lofa Tatupu is the latest Seahawks star to go on the injured reserve list.

A team spokesman said Seattle’s three-time Pro Bowl middle linebacker is having surgery Thursday afternoon in Alabama to repair a torn left pectoral muscle.
The defensive captain was injured in the first half of Seattle’s loss to Arizona on Oct. 18 while trying to make a tackle.
Wednesday, six-time All-Pro left tackle Walter Jones went on injured reserve because of a surgically repaired left knee.
The 26-year-old Tatupu did not miss a game in his first 3› seasons in the NFL. He played through assorted injuries including concussions, strained groins and hamstrings and a broken thumb.
Sunday’s game at Dallas will be his third absence in less than 12 months.
