Fuel spill reported at Campbell Industrial Park

Associated Press

HONOLULU — The fuel tank of a fishing vessel has ruptured in the Phoenician Yard at Campbell Industrial Park on Oahu.

The U.S. Coast Guard said Friday that the fuel spill occurred as the Lady Anna was being hoisted out of the water.
About 200 gallons of diesel spilled into the water, while 700 gallons spilled on land.
Coast Guard pollution investigators were working with a contracted cleanup company, the Pacific Environmental Corp., to contain the spill.
A Coast Guard helicopter that flew over the location reported a patchy sheen spreading along the coastline. But crews from Pacific Environmental’s response vessel report the very light sheen was evaporating.
