Fire destroyed one house and damaged another yesterday morning in Kaneohe.

Firefighters responded to a 6:47 a.m. call at 45-906 Anoi Road and found a two-bedroom home completely engulfed in flames and a second home on the property on fire.
Four engines, a ladder company and about 25 firefighters responded to the call and had the fire under control by 7 a.m.
Fire Capt. Terry Seelig said a family of four occupies the house that was destroyed, but no one was home at the time.
Seelig said a man who lives in the second house sustained minor injuries while escaping. He was treated at the scene by city paramedics.
Seelig said fire investigators have not yet determined the cause of the fire. He said the fire caused an estimated $500,000 in damage to the home that was destroyed and about $100,000 in damage to the second home.
Seelig said the Red Cross is assisting the family.
