ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — The Buffalo Bills waived former Hawaii linebacker Solomon Elimimian and five others today while also signing a free-agent tight end.
The 5-foot-11, 225-pound Elimimian was named the Western Athletic Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Year in 2008. A four-year starter for the Warriors, Elimimian finished his career as the school's all-time leading tackler with 434.
Others waived today were offensive lineman Chris Denman and receiver Shaine Smith. Tight end Travis McCall, defensive back Lydell Sargeant and defensive tackle Marcus Smith were placed on the waived/injured list.
The team signed tight end Tyson DeVree, who played in two games with New England last season after spending the first nine weeks on the Patriots practice squad.
The Bills made the moves to get down to the mandated 75-man roster.
