Tsunami watch in effect for Indian Ocean

A magnitude 7.1 earthquake in Indonesia has prompted a tsunami watch for the Indian Ocean.
There is no tsunami threat to Hawaii.
The Japan Meteorological Agency said the earthquake happened at 9:55 p.m. Hawaii time near Jawa, Indonesia. The agency said there was the possibility of a destructive local tsunami in the Indian Ocean.
