Woman found dead had apparent gunshot wound
A woman who was found dead late Sunday night in a vacant building in Wai'anae had what appeared to be a shotgun wound to the chest, police said.
Police identified the woman as Nicole Barrett, 26, of Wai'anae.
Barrett was discovered by a friend about 10:15 p.m. Sunday, police said.
The case has been classified as an unattended death pending the outcome of an autopsy. The city medical examiner's office yesterday did not release the cause or manner of Barrett's death.
Authorities have not ruled out the possibility of suicide.
