Sean Scott, a Punahou School and University of Hawai'i alum, teamed with John Hyden to upset Olympic gold medalists Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers and win the AVP Crocs Cup Championship Kentucky Grilled Chicken Chicago Open last weekend.

Scott and Hyden snapped the top seeds' 34-match, five-tournament win streak in the final. The scores were 21-17, 15-21, 15-12.

It was the sixth time in 2009 that Hyden and Scott have faced Dalhausser and Rogers in AVP finals. Each team won three times.

Dalhausser and Rogers claimed the season-long Crocs Cup Championship title. The Crocs Cup awards $75,000 in bonus money to the top four teams of each gender based on their top 10 2009 finishes as a team through last weekend's tournament. Dalhausser and Rogers won the $45,000 first-place bonus, while Hyden and Scott claimed the $15,000 second-place prize.
