Ala Wai Small Boat Harbor office to temporarily change hours

Advertiser Staff

HONOLULU – The Department of Land and Natural Resources will temporarily reduce office hours at the Ala Wai Small Boat Harbor starting on Sept. 9. The harbor office will open at 7:45 a.m. and close one hour early at 3 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, except during the last week of the month.

However, normal business hours will continue on Tuesdays and Saturdays, from 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. The office is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

“We appreciate the public’s patience and understanding while we implement these minimal changes to allow the Ala Wai boating division staff to catch up on paperwork for about 40 new accounts, so that offers for newly completed slips can be sent out,” said Ed Underwood, Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation administrator. “At the present the O‘ahu boating division is short staffed and harbor agents are assisting at both Ala Wai and Ke‘ehi small boat harbors.”

For more information call the O‘ahu district boating office at 832-3520.
