Radical Islam focus of documentary

New York Times best-selling author Joel C. Rosenberg and retired Lt. Gen. Jerry Boykin, former commander of the Delta Force, will take part in a webcast documentary Friday exploring the global implications of radical Islam and the church's response.

The documentary will be streamed live in Hawai'i at 1 p.m. at www.insidetherevolution.org.

Calvary Chapel 'Aiea will be one of many churches nationwide to rebroadcast "Inside the Revolution" at 4 p.m. Hawai'i time. It will be shown on the big screen in the main sanctuary.

PRAYER SERVICE SET FOR VICTIMS OF 9/11

A Taize prayer service for peace, in remembrance of those who lost their lives in the attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and United Airlines Flight 93 on Sept. 11, 2001, will be at 5:30 p.m. at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. Andrew on Sept. 11, the eighth anniversary of the attacks.

Taize is a deeply relaxing, meditative form of prayer originally developed by a monastic community in Taize, France.

The service is free, and open to the public.

CHORAL EVENSONG ON QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY

A Choral Evensong featuring Hawaiian songs will be sung at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow, honoring the 171st anniversary of Queen Lili'uokalani's birth.

Evensong, sometimes called evening prayer, has been sung in cathedral churches for centuries, and offers prayer and song as thanks for the day past and blessing for the coming night.

The queen was a devoted worshipper at both Kawaiaha'o Church, as well as St. Andrews.

The service is free and open to the public.
