A 32-year-old homeless man was arrested in Kaneohe yesterday after he was found behind the wheel of a car that had been reported stolen.

Police said an officer on routine patrol noticed a suspicious vehicle and driver about 12:15 p.m.
A quick check showed the car had been reported stolen.
The officer pulled the car over on Kamehameha Highway near the Heeia Kea Small Boat Harbor and arrested the driver on suspicion of car theft.
A search of the car’s interior turned up a number of items that had been reported stolen in an unrelated theft case as well as a driver’s license and credit cards belonging to another person.
The suspect was then arrested on theft and identity theft charges.
