Benjamin Kehuaokekai Kaimana, 68, of Waimanalo, died Aug. 13, 2009. Born in Honolulu. Veterinarian assistant at the state Department Animal Quarantine; referee for OIA football. Survived by son, Ben Joseph; daughter, Bernadine "Kanani" Amosa; brothers, Joseph, John, Michael, Anderson and Charles; sisters, Emma Baptiste, Kathleen, and Gladys Nohara; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Graveside service 10 a.m. Saturday at Hau'ula Cemetery, inurnment to follow. Arrangements by Woolsey Mortuary Services.

Walter Kazuo Kishimoto, 90, of Honolulu, died Aug, 19, 2009. Born in Hilo, Hawai'i. Retired Diamond Head Restaurant and Hale'iwa Sands Restaurant bartender. Survived by wife, Patsy; daughter, Eunice Hayashi; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Miyoko Yagi, Chieko Kamiyama, Tomoyo Kaneshiro, Sarah Mitchell, Kay Suga and Jane Makinoda. Visitation 3 p.m. Saturday at Hosoi Garden Mortuary, service 4 p.m. No flowers. Aloha attire.

Joy Kuniye Lai, 83, of Honolulu, died Aug. 18, 2009. Born in Honolulu. Survived by sons, Jacob, Warren and Andrew; daughter, Sharon Shiira; sisters, Grace Peters and Eleanor Miura; six grandchildren; one great-grandson. Private service held. Arrangements by Mililani Downtown Mortuary.

Allan "Otto" Miike, 70, of Lihu'e, Kaua'i, died Sept. 1, 2009. Born in Hanalei, Kaua'i. Retired state Department of Education counselor. Survived by wife, Elsie; daughter, Tricia Won; two granddaughters; mother, Doris; brothers, Russel, Jack and Stanford. Richard Mitsuo Otake, 88, of Honolulu, died Aug. 26, 2009. Born in Makawao, Maui. Retired AMFAC-Construction Materials Hawai'i sales representative; World War II U.S. Army veteran of 442nd Regimental Combat Team. Daniel "Vasco" "Pete" "Kaniela" "Franky" Vasconcellos, 81, of Hilo, Hawai'i, died Aug. 29, 2009. Born in Hilo. A paniolo since age 11; retired rancher. Survived by wife, Ellen Kahaunani Vasconcellos; son, Graly; stepsons, Woodsworth "Woody" and William Kenison; daughter, Dayna DeRamos; sister, Matilda Powell; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
