Aloha Festivals begins with investiture of Royal Court

Wyatt Kamalulani Kahapea will reign as Moi Kane, or king, and Tracy Lokelani Keliihoomalu will be Moi Wahine, or queen, during the Aloha Festivals. The investiture of the Royal Court was held this morning in Waikiki.

Members of the Aloha Festivals Royal Court were introduced this morning at an investiture ceremony at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.

They are:
—Wyatt Kamalulani Kahapea, Moi Kane (king).
— Tracy Lokelani Keliihoomalu, Moi Wahine (queen).
— Justy Keikiliiliionalani Kalilimoku, Kamalii Kane (prince).
— Elise Ululani Kahikina, Kamalii Wahine (princess).
The theme for this year’s Aloha Festivals is “Hula: Let the Story be Told.”
The Festivals’ opening ceremony is scheduled for 4:30 this afternoon at the Royal Hawaiian Center’s Royal Grove.
Traditional chant and hula will mark the official start of events that will be highlighted by the Waikiki Hoolaulea on Sept. 19 and the 63rd annual Floral Parade through Waikiki on Sept. 26.
