A 42-year-old Oahu Community Corrections Center officer turned himself into police on Friday over an allegation he sexually assaulted a male inmate, police said.

The alleged incident occurred on Aug. 23 at 5:30 a.m. and involve a 31-year-old male inmate who said he was forced to perform sexual acts against his will while incarcerated. The corrections officer, Ryan Malasig, was charged for investigation of sexual assault in the second degree and was released pending further investigation yesterday.
