NFL: Eagles’ QB McNabb out of practice with rib injury

Associated Press

PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb will not practice Wednesday because of his cracked rib.

Coach Andy Reid says McNabb is making progress. He also says it is still too early to determine if McNabb will start Sunday’s game against New Orleans.
Kevin Kolb is expected to take the snaps with the starters Wednesday. Reid again made clear that Kolb will start against the Saints if McNabb can’t play.
Recently acquired Jeff Garcia would be Kolb’s backup. He will be the No. 3 emergency quarterback if McNabb starts.
Michael Vick and Garcia will share snaps running the scout team this week. Vick is not eligible to play.
