Ploeger to become Chaminade's ninth president in Saturday ceremony

Brother Bernard Ploeger will become the ninth president of Chaminade University at an investiture ceremony Saturday.

The ceremony is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Chaminade’s Mamiya Theatre. A reception will follow in the adjacent Keoho Plaza.
Ploeger’s investiture will culminate two days of celebration.
Tomorrow night at 7, a free concert will be held in Mamiya Theatre featuring Chaminade’s Vocal Arts Ensemble.
At 2 p.m. Saturday, a special Mass of Thanksgiving will held in St. Patrick Church at 1124 7th Avenue.
Among the investiture participants will be The Right Rev. Clarence “Larry” Silva, Bishop of the Diocese of Honolulu; Mayor Mufi Hannemann; Dr. Carmine Himenes, Hawaii Catholic Schools superintendent; and Clyde Namuo, Office of Hawaiian Affairs administrator.
University of Hawaii president M.R.C. Greenwood, Hawaii Pacific University vice-president of academic affairs, nd Dr. Chad Compton, Brigham Young-Hawaii associate academic vice president also are expected to attend.
In lieu of gifts, Ploeger asks that contributions be made to The President Mary Civille (Sue) Wesselkamper Endowed Scholarship.
