Ann Kobayashi was formally sworn in this morning as the 5th District’s councilmember.

Kobayashi won a 14-candidate race last month for the seat left vacant by the June 9 death of Duke Bainum.
The 5th District encompasses an area that includes Palolo, Manoa, Makiki and Kapahulu.
Kobayashi, who previously served on the council, had already been sworn in privately and begun office hours and attending committee meetings at Honolulu Hale.
Her term runs through 2012.
