A California museum has named Henry J. Kaiser one of that state’s most influential people, inducting the industrialist who also left a major mark on Hawaiçi’s history into a 4-year-old Hall of Fame.

Kaiser was one of 13 inductees into The California Museum’s California Hall of Fame this year. Other inductees this year included entertainer Carol Burnett, film-maker George Lucas, philanthropist and peace activist Joan Kroc and Air Force test pilot General Chuck Yeager.
As part of the recognition, artifacts and mementos from the inductees will be featured in a new exhibit in the museum, which was established in 1998 in Sacramento to showcase pieces of California’s history.
Kaiser, who was semi-retired when he arrived in Hawaiçi in 1954 at age 72, master-planned and developed Hawaiçi Kai and a Waikïkï resort on the site of what is now Hilton Hawaiian Village.
