NFL: Colts' Gonzalez could miss up to 8 weeks with knee injury

INDIANAPOLIS — Colts receiver Anthony Gonzalez could miss up to eight weeks with sprained ligaments in his right knee.

Coach Jim Caldwell said Thursday that Gonzalez could miss two to eight weeks.

He would not confirm that the team has signed veteran receiver Hank Baskett.

Three-time MVP Peyton Manning, however, told reporters that the Colts wanted to get Baskett up to speed as soon as possible going into Monday's game against Miami.

Adding Baskett would give the Colts four healthy receivers on the active roster — Pro Bowler Reggie Wayne, second-year pro Pierre Garcon and rookie Austin Collie.

Gonzalez hurt his right knee during Sunday's 14-12 victory over Jacksonville.
