Statewide gas price hits $3.26, highest so far this year

The average price of a gallon of regular gas in Hawai'i rose to $3.26 this week, its highest level so far this year, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch.

The Hawai’i average price was up 3 cents a gallon from a week earlier and 12 cents from a month ago.
“Hawaii residents still have not seen some relief at the pump, even though the prices in most parts of the Mainland have declined,” said AAA Hawaii Regional Manager Richard Velazquez.
In Honolulu the average price was $3.26 a gallon, up 3 cents from a week ago and 12 cents from a month ago.
The average price in Hilo was $3.39, up 5 cents from a week ago and 15 cents from the same time last month.
In Wailuku, the average price was $3.75, up 2 cents from the previous week and 8 cents from a month ago.
