Obama documentary to screen at Waikiki Shell Oct. 29

Organizers are planning a free screening of the documentary film “By the People: The Election of Barack Obama,” on Thursday, Oct. 29 at the Waikiki Shell.
Live entertainment is also planned.
Hawaii figures in the documentary include the President’s sister, Maya Ng, and husband Konrad Ng; Congressman Neil Abercrombie, Bobby Titcomb and members of the Punahou faculty. President Obama is an alumni of Punahou.
“By the People” also includes an sound-only interview with Obama’s grandmother, Madelyn Dunham.
The film was produced by actor Edward Norton, according to the Internet Movie Database, via production company Class 5 Films. HBO plans to air the documentary in November, according to HBO.com.
Alicia Sams and Amy Rice directed the film.
