New Orleans band to heat up night at UH amphitheater

The Hot 8 Brass Band from New Orleans will play two sets at Andrews Amphitheatre tonight as part of the Manoa Jazz Festival.

The gates to the University of Hawai'i-Manoa's outdoor venue open at 6 p.m. and the concert starts at 6:30 p.m. with the 'Iolani School Stage Band. The Hot 8 Brass Band then takes over until 9:15 p.m., when the Hawai'i Pacific University Jazz Ensemble finishes off the evening with a 45-minute set.

Low-back chairs and picnics are allowed (but no glass containers or alcohol) and food from Kevin's Two Boots and Simply Ono will be available for purchase.

Tickets are $15 to $25. Advance tickets will be sold until 4› hours before showtime online at www.etickethawaii.com, by phone at 944-BOWS or in person at UH ticket outlets. They'll also be available at the door for $20 to $30 one hour before the gates open. For more information, call 956-8246.
