Bicyclist, rear-ended by car, critical; police arrest driver

Advertiser Staff

A 47-year-old man was in critical condition after the bicycle he was riding was struck from behind by a car early yesterday.

The collision occurred around 2:40 a.m. on Farrington Highway near Kea'au Homestead Road.

The driver, a 27-year-old Wahiawa man, was arrested on suspicion of negligent injury and other traffic-related charges.

Police said speed and alcohol may have been factors.
