Three local firms to share in $500M military contract

Three Hawaii firms were among six construction companies that will share a $500 million worth of contract awarded by Naval Facilities Engineering Command.

The local companies are Hawaiian Dredging Construction Co., Watts-Healy Tibbitts Joint Venture, and Manson-Nan Joint Venture. The Mainland companies are General Construction Co., Poulsbo, Wash.; Nova Group, Napa, Calif.; and Triton Marine Construction Corp., Bremerton, Wash.
All work under the Multiple Award Construction Contract will be done in Hawaii, and will include the construction, repair, and alteration of waterfront-related structures and facilities, dredging, and other infrastructure improvements. All work is set to be completed by 2014.
