Utility work through Oct. 7 will slow School St. traffic

Advertiser Staff

Hawaiian Electric Co. crews are scheduled to perform utility work along School Street today through Oct. 7.

Crews will begin near the intersection of School and Liliha streets.

Work will progress along School Street to the Kamehameha Shopping Center and Likelike Highway intersection. The construction area will span several poles at a time and will move down the street as sections of work are completed.

Work is scheduled to take place between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. During work hours, two westbound lanes of School Street will be closed in the work area.

Parking will not be allowed on either side of the street in the construction area. Hawaiian Electric will use traffic-control measures and special-duty police officers in the construction area.
