IONA Contemporary Dance Theatre’s latest fundraiser, “The Kama Sutra Supper Club,” is labeled “an experience for all your senses.”
The event, based on 1950s-style supper clubs, combines food, dance and spirituality, designed by IONA’s artistic director, Cheryl Flaharty.
In collaboration with Glenn Chu, head chef at Indigo Restaurant, the Supper Club features five dancer/food installations that merge contemporary Indian cuisine with sensual, modern dance.
Guests will interact with dancers costumed as deities.
The dance company, founded in 1990 by Flaharty, is supported by an annual fundraising event.
“The Kama Sutra Supper Club” takes place on Sunday, Oct. 11 at Indigo Restaurant. A silent auction begins at 6:30 p.m. and dinner with performance at 7:30 p.m.
Sponsor Tables of 10 starting at $3,000 and individual tickets at $200 are now available. For more information, contact IONA at 262-0110, or e-mail kamasutra@iona360.com.
