The Costco store in Waipio was evacuated briefly this morning because of a coolant gas leak in a refrigeration unit.

Firefighters were dispatched about 9:45 a.m.
Fire Capt. Terry Seelig said Costco employees had already cleared out the building when firefighters arrived. No customers were in the store at the time.
Workers from Pacific Refrigeration found the source of the leak and stopped it shortly after 10.
Seelig said firefighters checked for gas presence and helped ventilate the store.
Employees were allowed back into the store at 10:30 and customers were let in shortly after.
