Big Island police diverted traffic in both directions off Highway 19, or the Hawaii Belt Highway, near mile marker 44/45 into the Ahulaloa subdivision today because of a traffic accident.

Details were sketchy on when the motor vehicle accident occurred or the extent of the injuries.
Traffic was diverted through the subdivision onto Kalopa Road.
