Mountain View Library closure reversed for now

Advertiser Staff

Funds raised via a "Keep Your Library Open!" campaign are being used to keep the Mountain View Public and School Library open during the month of October; the facility was scheduled to close Oct. 2-22 due to funding shortages.

The Hawaii State Public Library System's "Keep Your Library Open!" and the Friends of the Library of Hawaii's "Keep the Doors Open" campaigns, launched Sept. 2 in the wake of announced state budget cuts, have together generated more than $100,000, according to a release from the Hawaii State Public Library System.
Donations are being accepted at all public libraries and checks may be made payable to the Hawaii State Public Library System; the local library may be noted in the check memo line. Or mail donations to Office of the State Librarian, Administrative Services Branch, 44 Merchant St., Honolulu 96813.
Collection totals can be view at librarieshawaii.org and friendsofthelibraryofhawaii.org.
